Oval chainrings make the spin cycle a lot smoother and are easier on legs while climbing. Believe it (or not), but a round chainring doesn't transfer power to your rear wheel as smoothly as an Oval one. 32T oval ring has its' smallest diameter in the dead spot (equivalent of 30T) and biggest in the peak power zone (equivalent of 34T). That means you will go faster with an oval 32T chainring compared to a round one! With oval rings you do not generate more power, you just go faster by distributing your leg power smarter. The thing that confuses most people is you will actually feel your stroke to be more "round" with an Oval shape than with a round chainring. This is something you can't imagine and we can't show on the website - you have to try it to believe it.
A 32T oval ring will suit someone who uses 28, 30 or 32T chainring currently. While pedaling, the effort will be similar to riding a round 30T ring (as the smallest diameter of the oval is that size), but you will gain speed similar to riding a 32/34T chainring.
34T Oval chainring has an ovality of 32/36T and is best for someone who uses currently 32/34 or 36T round ring.
It is ideal for people who climb a lot on 1x10/11 system and Singlespeeds. Oval chainrings do not compromise the clutch mechanism on your rear derailleur (check the video). It also does not require a chain tensioner in a singlespeed application. Riding out of the saddle on uphills will become more pleasant and you will gain more traction!.
The new 30T Oval chainring has built-in 2.5mm spacers and threaded holes to allow the chain to clear the spider. It comes complete with 2x M8 aluminium, 2x M5 steel bolts and eccentric spacers in the package.
32T chainring has built-in 2mm spacers and threaded holes to create better chainline. Ovality of the chainring is only 11%. These chainrings also help you to recover after knee injuries as pedaling becomes smoother and less exhausting.
